Created at Pante Studio in the village of Ortisei/Val Gardena, province of Bolzano, Italy.
This beautiful wall hanging relief is entirely handmade, handpainted, and handcarved from lindenwood and is a direct reproduction of an original sculpture*, which is located in the parish church at Ortisei, Val Gardena, Italy;
"Holy Elisabeth of Thuringia, giving alms to a beggar and the Miracle of the Roses",
by Austrian artist, Rudolf Moroder Lenert, 1877-1914.
The woodcarving is a one-of-a-kind piece, a declared 'Work of Art', and carries a metal seal declaration from the Italian government, which is pressed onto the side of the wood, and also includes a Certificate acknowledging the artwork.
Dimensions are 150cm by 80cm; or, 41.5 inches high by 31.5 inches wide and a depth of 3.5 inches. This can be hung on a wall or set inside an alcove in a wall.
*The original sculpture of Holy Elisabeth of Thuringia was distinguished by a gold medal at the Paris World's Fair in 1900.
