For over 40 years, we have been supplying the American buyer with treasures from Europe - beautiful handmade collectibles to remind one of their heritage.
Our love of decorative and whimsical candles got us started, but once we became involved with the traditions and history of each country, it seemed only natural to follow through with other items.
We looked and found - first, Christmas Ornaments, then Ceramics, Enamel, Table Linens, and Crystal followed up by Traditional Austrian Clothing, Hats and Hatpins - and of course, we continue our quest for that extra special gift item, a work of art with meaning, something to hold in the hand and know that someone somewhere took the time to sit down and enjoy making an item with pride.
And... this makes us proud of the merchandise we carry. Everything is handmade by old world artists living in Austria, Germany, Italy and Russia. All of the painting is totally by hand - there is no mass production.
Some of the candle factories we purchase from are over 500 years old. Each decorative candle is wrapped in a hard wax jacket and burns from within, illuminating just like a lantern. Each candle is handpainted and washed in a patina finish and, the wax formula used contains a high percentage of beeswax which guarantees many pleasant burning hours.
The candleholders we carry are handmade specially for our candles in either solid brass or wrought iron with patina finish.
Finally, there is the Original Vienna Snowglobe which carries a tradition all its own and brings joy and happiness just by 'letting it snow'.
